Inspired by Jamba Juice smoothies, this smoothie recipe uses sherbet to add sweetness while still retaining the healthful benefits of fresh, ripe fruit. Sherbet is a low-fat alternative to ice cream and also comes in a sugar free variety that tastes great in smoothie recipes. Strawberries are packed with antioxidants, and this smoothie provides two servings of strawberries in one smoothie. Strawberries are also high in vitamin C and have been shown to help keep blood sugar balanced even when eating other foods with added sugar. So go ahead and enjoy this treat without the guilt of consuming a milkshake.
