This smoothie recipe may be changed in several delicious ways depending on your preference when it comes to a margarita. Using frozen papaya allows you to have the nutritional benefits of the fruit while providing ice at the same time. You can also try fresh papaya and add ice cubes to get to the consistency that you desire. Also, try agave nectar in place of the simple syrup for a taste combination to die for. This way you will be gaining the health benefits of agave and experiencing the magic of fermented agave (aka tequila) at the same time!
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen papaya
1/4 cup guava juice
3 tbsp simple syrup
1 oz tequila
Instructions:
- Make simple syrup: In a small sauce pan mix 1/2 cup sugar in 1/2 cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Makes about 3/4 cup syrup.
- Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.
Tips:
To significantly reduce preparation and blending time try using one of our recommended high end best blenders for smoothies.
Simple syrup may be stored in the refrigerator for later use.
