We use all natural ingredients in our margarita smoothie recipes, including our homemade simple syrup, which will take you to a tropical paradise! Tequila that is made from 100% agave is known for being smooth tasting and reportedly does not cause a hangover when imbibed in moderation. Tequila that has other alcohol sources added gives the effect of “mixing” your liquors and has a reputation for causing the classic hangover symptoms of headache, nausea, and general fatigue. Although there are not many health benefits left after the nutritious agave nectar is fermented, using whole fruits in this smoothie will provide a substantial dose of antioxidants to get you through the morning after.
- Make simple syrup: In a small sauce pan mix 1/2 cup sugar in 1/2 cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Makes about 3/4 cup syrup.
- Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth.
- Wet rim of glass and dip in sugar
You can save simple syrup in the refrigerator for later use.
